Etoile

Expensive and short menu, but really good. Nice bar....even nicer bartender (referring to Robin) . Excellent wine Selection. If the Tap Room is full to capacity this is a nice place to go sit and drink.

Friends Restaurant
407 Saint Tammany St
Madisonville, LA

Friends is a quaint little place right on the water. We went for Valentines day last night, and it was very nice. I hadn't been there since before Katrina, and the atmosphere has changed a bit, but it is still very nice. They had a nice Valentines day special. Soup, Salad, Steak, and lobster. I thought it was very reasonably priced and very good food. It was too cold to sit on the deck which would have been nice, but oh well. Honestly I'd find someplace a little more darker and candle lit for Valen-Girls day next year.

New Orleans Food & Spirits

208 Lee Ln
Covington, LA

My absolute favorite place to eat in downtown Covington. Everything on the menu is excellent. Great for lunch, I would go a bit early to beat the crowds and get good parking. The food is well seasoned, and if you like fried seafood this is the place to go.

Sake Gardens Japanese Rstrnt

1705 Highway 190
Mandeville, LA

It's small and quiet, great sushi and average prices.

Calypso Patio Bar & Grill

Covington, LA 70433

My girl and I gave this place a try. It hasn't been open but for 6 weeks or so. It was excellent. They had a really good atmosphere, nice dining area and patio.

I tried the Jerk Chicken, which is something I always like. They brought me a whole half chicken bar-b-qued. Usually places like that don't give you much for food for your money, but this place surely does. They had a few other Jerk items on the menu that I will definently be trying.

Sushi Sushi Sushi....good place, right around the corner from my gym, makes for good after workout protein. Rather small, but in the heart of downtown Covington.

Good for breakfast on a Sunday after church. Gets crowded. Nice, old decor. Friendly staff.
