Grotto

This appears to be an upper crust Italian restaurant. They had really good Lasagna! However, the portions were a bit small for the prices. For an entree, a cheap glass of wine, and a dessert, plan to spend about $30. The main courses ranged from $15-$22.

The food was great! We had softshell crabs, and they were very yummy! It tasted like the seafood you would get in south Louisiana! The waiter we had was a bit annoying, but besides that everything was really good!

Mary'z

Probably the best Lebanese I've ever eaten. Their lunch specials are good, and their baba ganoush is great. So is the salad and well everything I've eaten.

The people are nice, and it's worth the visit.

Mambo Seafoood 3 Incorporated

While we were in Houston recently, my girlifriend's sister took us to Mambo. It was very very packed, very very busy, and the food was pretty good. It's very much a Mexican restaurant, but they serve seafood and their most popular dish is the shrimp fried rice (I had the small chicken fried rice... it cost me $4 and it was enough for 2 or 3 people... I had leftovers for days.) Good, cheap food. 3 of us ate for $20ish.

Good, old-fashioned home cooking. The Avalon Diner is a Houston institution. If you're looking for a good, hot meal with ample portions, you can't miss.
